The United Nations Security Council partially lifted an arms embargo on Somalia.
With today's decision, the Security Council for a period of 12 months partially lifted an arms embargo on Somalia so that this country could train security forces and facilitate public security and safety.
The decision was taken unanimously.
Meanwhile, the UN Security Council on Wednesday also decided to extend the mission of the African Union peace force in Somalia until February 28, 2014 upon a request by the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.
