Abdulbaset Sieda, former President of the Syrian National Council (SNC), has stated they were neither interested in war nor in weapons but only wished to end the massacre, in relation to the decision of US to provide arms to the opposition.
Continuing his work in the regional administration in north of Iraq, Sieda told Anadolu Agency that they hoped the White House would keep their promise this time.
"We are neither interested in war nor in weapons but only wish to end the massacre," Sieda said.
Stating that some powers wanted to stir up Turkey to help Assad at a time he is in need of more support, Sieda said, "There is currently a democratic government ruling Turkey. I'm sure it will successfully resolve the issue."
Sieda said Turkey has helped Syria extensively and added, "There is nothing to be suprised of. We are neighbours. We have a border line of over 900 kilometers. Syria is a key state. When Syria is in sifficulty, all states are effected. That's why we call on the states in the region to gather and resolve the issue."
