FIFA has confirmed it is penalizing two Slovakian and 13 Estonian footballers for fixing matches.
According to FIFA.com on Thursday, the international governing body of football confirmed the sanctions and extended the penalties worldwide.
The Slovakian Football Federation (SFZ) Discipline Committee banned Ivan Hodur from football for 11 years and Robert Rak for 14 years for taking part in match-fixing activities in many friendly matches in 2011.
But Hodur's penalty was increased to 25 years as he had already been sanctioned with a suspension of 14 years on 17 December 2013, in connection with another match-fixing case.
Meanwhile, the Estonian Football Federation (EJL) Discipline Committee ordered that, following an investigation launched in 2011, 10 footballers were banned from playing until March 1, 2015 and two others until December 31, 2014.
Eight other players have already been sanctioned over the case and one player, Yaroslav Dmitriev, was banned from all football-related activities for a lifetime.
The EJL Discipline Committee is expected to decide on the fate of 12 other footballers by the end of the year.
