ANKARA
The Japanese Football Association appointed Bosnian manager Vahid Halilhodzic as the national team's new manager on Thursday.
The association announced on their website that Halilhodzic is the new boss of the Japan National Football Team nicknamed "Samurai Blue."
During his career, 62-year-old Halilhodzic managed French clubs Lille, Rennes and Paris Saint-Germain and lastly Turkish side Trabzonspor.
Halilhodzic also coached Algeria to its first-ever appearance in the Round of 16 in the 2014 World Cup.
