ISTANBUL
Czech striker Milan Baros on Wednesday was transferred back to the Banik Ostrava club where he started his professional career.
According to the statement, the Czech club agreed for Baros to stay with the club until the end of 2014-15 football season. The 32-year-old striker, who will turn 33 in a month, will wear the number 33 in his new club.
Baros, who was the top goal scorer of 2008-09 Turkish Super League while he was playing for Galatasaray and who also played for Turkish side Antalyaspor last season, has been ineligible to play since mid-season due to a cruciate ligament rupture injury.
In addition to Galatasaray and Antalyaspor, experienced Czech striker previously played for English teams Liverpool, Aston Villa, Portsmouth and French club Olympique Lyon.
This is the third time that Baros will be playing for Banik Ostrava since he lastly competed for the Czech side for a half season in 2013 after leaving Galatasaray.
The former Galatasaray striker, who scored 48 goals in 93 international matches for his country, was the top scorer in the UEFA Euro 2004 championship held in Portugal where the Czech Republic was eliminated in the semi-finals by Greece, the winners of the tournament.
