ISTANBUL
Mercedes' German driver Nico Rosberg won the Spanish Grand Prix at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Barcelona Sunday.
Having started in the "pole" position, Rosberg won his first Grand Prix of this season with 1:41:12.555 degree. Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel and Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton each competed for the runners-up position during the race.
Meanwhile, McLaren Honda's Spanish driver Fernando Alonso withdrew from the race because of brake problems.
Hamilton claimed the second spot by finishing the race 17.5 seconds behind Rosberg. Vettel came in third.
Drivers standings leader Hamilton raised his points to 111 after the race. Rosberg is following him with 91 points and Vettel is in the third rank with 80 points.
Upcoming race, Monaco Grand Prix will be held on May 24.
