International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) announced Tuesday that a disciplinary investigation has been launched against 28 athletes joining 2005 and 2007 World Championships in Athletics after detecting "adverse findings" in a second reanalysis.
IAAF says that the urine samples of the athletes, who took part in Helsinki 2005 and Osaka 2007, have been examined again and 32 adverse findings were detected.
It is reported that majority of these athletes retired and some of them were sanctioned for doping. So none of the athletes will be able to compete in 2015 World Championships in Athletics set to start in Beijing on August 22.
It is said in the statement that the name of the athletes will not be given until the investigation completes.
