World number one Serena Williams secured a place in the Wimbledon ladies’ final on Thursday when she beat Russian Maria Sharapova 6-2, 6-4.
Williams, 33, is aiming for her 21st Grand Slam title as she faces Garbine Muguruza on Saturday in the Spaniard’s first major final.
Muguruza, 21, beat Agnieszka Radwanska 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 in the earlier semi-final.
