Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson is set to return for a game against Cleveland on Sunday.
It will have been 941 days since Thompson suited up for Golden State Warriors as he last appeared in Game 6 of the NBA Finals on June 13, 2019.
His teammate, Stephen Curry, welcomed Thompson back, tweeting: "My brother returning to the court has me going down memory lane... let me hear your favorite Klay Thompson memories!"
A five-time NBA All-Star and three-time NBA champion, Thompson holds NBA records for most points in a single quarter (37 on Jan. 23, 2015) and most three-pointers in a single game (14 on Oct. 29, 2018).
Thompson had been absent as he was recovering from a torn ACL in his left knee, missing the entirety of the 2019-20 NBA season.
Then, in November 2020, it was confirmed that Thompson had suffered a torn right Achilles and had to undergo surgery.
