Dozens of civilians and five Daesh militants were killed by Russian airstrikes that targeted neighborhoods in the Manbej area of Syria’s northern Aleppo province on Tuesday, local sources have said.
Local sources told Anadolu Agency that Russian warplanes had targeted a public market in the Al-Matahen district, which is located in an area held by Daesh.
According to a Daesh-linked news agency, 25 people in Manbej were killed -- and 41 injured -- by a series of 14 airstrikes carried out by Russian warplanes.
The assertions, however, have yet to be verified by independent sources.
