Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's main military aide was taken into custody for alleged ties to Friday’s failed coup attempt in the southern province of Antalya, according to a local source.
The local official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Lt. Col. Erkan Kivrak, the president's air force advisor, was taken into custody in a hotel in the Serik district of Antalya.
Kivrak is expected to be brought to Ankara to face trial there, said the official.
