DENIZLI
One person died and 36 more were injured in a gas explosion at a bakery in Turkey's western Denizli province Friday morning, according to Turkey's official disaster management agency.
The AFAD agency stated that three among the injured are very critical, one of whom is pregnant. The blast occured at a bakery in a seven-storey building in central Denizli.
The explosion in the center of the city tore down the walls of the apartment whilst also damaging nearby buildings.
Denizli, a bridge between Turkey's Aegean and Mediterranean regions, is a province renowned for its textile production and its tourism with its travertines - bulks of carbonate minerals left by the running water which attracts many tourists to its spas.
