HATAY
The Governor of the southern province of Hatay, Mehmet Celalettin Lekesiz said on Saturday that 19 Turkish trucks recently looted in Syria were returned to their owners.
Speaking to reporters at the Cilvegozu Border Gate, Governor Lekesiz said that they believed at least nine Turkish trucks were burned in a region close to the Babel-Hawa Border Gate in Syria.
"We are working to bring other Turkish trucks in Syria back to Turkey," Lekesiz stressed.
"There is no security in Syria. As such, we advise our citizens not to travel to Syria," Lekesiz underlined.
Meanwhile, Turkish trucks waiting in line at the Babel-Hawa Border Gate began returning to Turkey.
