First Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) University Games ended in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
Competitions took place in tennis, badminton, table tennis, futsal, wrestling, swimming, athletics and chess.
The games were attended by athletes and players from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Turkey and the host TRNC.
Having won six gold and four silver medals, Kazakhstan completed the games in the first spot followed by Turkey in the second spot.
Pakistan and the TRNC ranked third in the competitions.
Speaking to the Anadolu Agency (AA), TRNC's Finance Minister Ersin Tatar thanked Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu and Turkish Minister of Youth and Sports Suat Kilic for their contributions in letting the TRNC into the ECO as an observer country.
"Turkish Cypriot youth face great injustices with the embargoes on the TRNC. With such organizations and the support of Motherland Turkey, isolations on the TRNC will slowly disappear," Tatar also said.
