ISTANBUL
A plane, which was loaded with 1.5 tons of gold in an African country and was waited at Ataturk Airport in Istanbul for 17 days, departed for Dubai on Friday.
Officials at the airport said that Airbus-A300 F type cargo plane belonging to a Istanbul-based cargo airline left Istanbul for Dubai after it presented the required "cargo manifest" and paid a parking fine of 3.500 Turkish lira to the Customs Directorate.
The plane made an emergency landing at Ataturk Airport on January 1 for refuelling.
