ANKARA (AA) - September 11, 2012 - Anadolu Agency Board Chairman and Director General Kemal Ozturk on Tuesday received a delegation of Chinese journalists at the AA headquarters in Ankara, the Turkish capital.
Speaking at the meeting with Chinese journalists headed by Gao Shangang, head of the Chinese Journalists' Association, Ozturk said the Anadolu Agency was oldest news agency in Turkey and currently the second biggest one in the Middle East and the Balkans behind Russia's Itar Tass.
Ozturk said the Anadolu Agency closely monitored China's Xinhua news agency, adding that the AA had offices in Beijing and Shanghai and that the AA planned to run news items in Chinese as well as part of AA's drive to become one of the five biggest news agencies in the world.
"We have established our regional field office for the Far East in Beijing and we are transmitting every important development in China in Turkish and in English," Ozturk said.
