Anadolu Agency personnel came together on Wednesday over an iftar meal (fast breaking dinner during Islamic Ramadan month) held in AA's Golbası social facilities.
Anadolu Agency Director General Kemal Ozturk expressed his contentment to be with AA personnel which he defined as 'a big family'.
Noting that more news and footages had been published since he started his term in office two years ago, Ozturk said, "We ascertained that our performance has increased 60 percent when compared to 2012. So we have to increase our performance more in order to reach our centennial vision. I proudly say that Anadolu Agency has become the news agency which has announced the military intervention in democracy in Egypt to the world in advance, broadcasted live and proclaimed a society's voice against coup to whole world. What we did in Cairo has become a first international step for what we'll do in future."
Ozturk stated that Anadolu Agency, thanks to AA personnel, gave a lesson to international press which shadowed and ignored a nation resisting to coup.
Anadolu Agency executive board members, deputy directors general, personnel and their families attended the iftar meal.
