ANKARA (AA) - July 20, 2012 - Turkish energy minister said that the Anadolu Agency's (AA) test broadcasting in Russian was of great importance for the energy sector and Turkey-Russia relations.
Speaking to AA correspondent, Energy & Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz said that strategic partners Turkey and Russia kept improving its relations especially in the area of energy.
Turkey signed a $20 billion project with Russia to build nuclear power facilities (in Akkuyu), he said, adding that besides Turkey purchased natural gas and oil from Russia. "It is important to boost ties in the energy sector in the following process," he said.
"Within this context, AA's Russian edition is a very important step. I would like to congratulate AA administration," he added.
AA began broadcasting news in Bosniac on March 11 and it continues its test broadcast in Arabic.
