ANKARA (AA) - July 20, 2012 - Anadolu Agency's (AA) Russian edition service wins significant recognition from politicians and academicians.
Speaking to AA correspondent on Friday, Russian Turkish Businessmen's Association's Culture & Science Chairman, Prof. Ilber Ortayli, said that broadcasting in Russian in today's world was a must.
Mentioning that AA took a pivotal step, "Broadcasting in several different languages is very pleasing, I find it very constructive. I congratulate and wish AA success in its broadcasting," said Ortayli.
Head of the Department of Russian Literature of Kafkas Uversity, associate Professor Kursat Oncul, also congragulated AA for its new broadcasting service.
Stating that Turkey's geographic and political relations with Russia made Russian language crucially important in Turkey, "World's dynamics nowadays give hints of Russian language might be second language behind English. In this sense, AA's broadcasting in this language is a proper and correct move," said Oncul.
Meanwhile, Justice and Development (AK) Party's Deputy Chairman, Grand National Assembly of Turkey-Russia Friendship Group Chairman, Salih Kapusuz, said that AA's Russian edition service was a very important action.
"With Anadolu Agency's new service, people who can speak Russian will be able to understand correctly what is happening in the world and Turkey. AA's this movement is also vital for Turkey's foreign relations. I appreciated AA's recent efforts," said Kapusuz.
