Voting to determine the "Photo and video of the month: January" has opened.
AA's photos and videos taken in different corners of the world and Turkey are presented for the voting of its followers via AA's Turkish, English and Arabic websites.
Each month, the Anadolu Agency (AA) will put its photographs and videos to the vote of its audience.
In the framework of its centennial vision, the agency holds improvement works. After its "AA's photo of the year" contest, now, it presents "AA's photo and the video news of the month".
Each month AA's followers will vote to elect the "Photo and Video of the Month".
Taken by AA photojournalists and camera operators, 10 selected photos under the categories of "News" and "Life", and 7 video news which were all taken in January 2013 will be open for the public voting until Monday, February 4, 17:00 p.m.
Nominees in two categories for Photo of the Month
Under the "News" category, the Photo of the Month nominees are as follows:
Emrah Yorulmaz's "Walk of Syrians to north of Iraq in bitter cold",
Firat Yurdakul's "Syrian Turkmen shelter seekers who fled to Lebanon",
Bariskan Unal's "Dance of Obamas",
Selim Bostanci's "Farewell of the fiancee to the worker killed in Kozlu mine accident",
Veli Gurgah's "Syrian woman who lost her family members in the bombing by Assad forces in Aleppo city of Syria, visits her destroyed house everyday, and consoles herself with what remains."
Under the "Life" category;
Mohamemed Hossam's "Historical Hammam in Egypt",
Berk Ozkan's "Istanbul, snow and a seagull",
Ali Ihsan Ozturk's "Buffaloes enjoying hot springs",
Volkan Furuncu's "Helping hand for the ones in the streets"
