Anadolu Agency cameraman Yunus Srhiri was assaulted by the Moroccan police while he was covering the protest against the release of Spanish pedophile, in Moroccan capital Rabat on Friday. He was hospitalized but later discharged after his treatment.
Hundreds of Moroccans protested late on Friday against the royal pardon granted by the King to a Spanish pedophile who was serving a 30-year sentence for raping and filming 11 girls some as young as 4 years old.
Moroccan King Mohamed VI has granted royal pardon for 1,044 convicted criminals to mark the 14th anniversary of his crowning.
The pardon has sparked mass protests in the country.
The Moroccan minister of justice, Mustapha Ramid said previously the list was made by the royal staff and they had nothing to do with it.
