ANKARA
Ankara Shopping Fest started Thursday with Emily DiDonato's gong hit and participation of Ankara Chamber of Commerce (ATO) Chairman Salih Bezci as well as many other guests.
The first day of the festival was celebrated with flamenco music, dances, and fireworks in Turkish capital Ankara.
As part of the festival this year, 222 cars will be gifted, as ATO Chairman Bezci said.
Bezci said the festival would make the consumers pleased with the discounts reaching 50 per cent for 24 days.
Stating various cultural activities were organised as well for the festival, Ankara Shopping Fest Executive Committee President Yuksel Tavsan said, "The activities are not enough. Tradesmen and craftsmen of Ankara should embrace the festival. It will then be more meaningful. If we want to make the festival traditional, the consurmers' confidence in the prices should not be destroyed."
A number of Turkish stars will give concerts during Shopping Fest making the consumers enjoy the festival more.
Retailers as well as shops and shopping centres will organise campaigns of discounts for 24 days.
