Court rejected the demand for release of all arrested suspects in Ergenekon case on Monday.
The court also rejected prosecutor's demand of issuing a warrant of arrest for 19 suspects.
Chief Prosecutors Mehmet Ali Pekguzel, Nihat Taskin and Murat Dalkus read out their opinion on the Ergenekon case to Istanbul High Criminal Court No. 13 on Monday.
After 2,271-page long opinion was read out by three prosecutors in five hours, the court recessed to assess the demands of prosecutor and the lawyers of the suspects.
Chief Prosecutors, in their opinion, underlined the existence of the "Ergenekon" terrorist organization, and demanded aggravated life in prison for many defendants.
There are 275 defendants in the Ergenekon case and 67 of them are in prison.
Prosecutors defended that the "Ergenekon terrorist organization" existed and the organization was responsible for virtually every act of political violence - and controlled every terrorist group - in Turkey over the last 30 years.
In their opinion, Chief Prosecutors underlined that the "Ergenekon terrorist organization" was responsible for organizing provocative terror acts designed to cause armed public uprising and which would eventually lead to the justification of a military coup.
Chief Prosecutors underlined that the targeting of members of the Turkish Council of State and the eventual assassination of one of those members was not an individual act but the act of an organization (Ergenekon).
"Ergenekon" happens to be the Turkish name of a secret organization called the Counter-Guerrilla in Europe, the Chief Prosecutors said in their opinion.
"Ergenekon terror organization" could be regarded as one which could not prevent many of its documents falling into the hands of the judiciary, the Chief Prosecutors underlined.
Many of "Ergenekon's" documents were confiscated in accordance with laws and placed in case files, the Chief Prosecutors said.
"Ergenekon" continued its activities through direct or front structures, the Chief Prosecutors also said.
Chief Prosecutors asked aggravated life in prison for 64 suspects including retired Gen. Alaettin Sevim, Birol Basaran, Bekir Ozturk, Cihander Hasanoglu, Durmus Ali Ozoglu, retired Col. Dursun Cicek, Emin Gurses, author Ergun Poyraz, Erhan Timuroglu, Erol Manisa, retired Gen. Hursit Tolon, Ferid Ilsever, Fuat Selvi, Habib Umit Sayin, Hasan Ataman Yildirim, Hasan Atilla Ugur, Hayrettin Ertekin, Hayrullah Mahmud Ozgur, Hulusi Gulbahar, Gen. Hifzi Cubuklu, retired Gen. Hasan Igsiz, retired Gen. Hursit Tolon, Gen. Huseyin Nusret Tasdeler, Huseyin Gorum, retired Gen. The court adjourned the case until April 8, 2013.
