BRUSSELS (AA) - Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said that Turkish citizens, who had been kept hostage by Taliban in Afghanistan, were in good condition.
Davutoglu, who attended the foreign ministerial meeting of NATO in Brussels on Tuesday, told reporters that eight Turkish citizens, who were captured by Taliban after their helicopter made emergency landing in Afghanistan, were in good condition.
We are exerting efforts to rescue our citizens, he added.
-Incidents in Kirkuk-
Davutoglu expressed sorrow over death of many people during the intervention of security forces in protestors in Kirkuk, Iraq.
It is essential to set up a political structure which covers all parties in Iraq so that such incidents do not happen again, said Davutoglu, adding that there was such a complicated ethnical and sectarian situation in Iraq that if any group was excluded, it would not be possible to restore peace and tranquility of the country.
Holding protest is one of the basic rights in all democratic societies, and it is important to do this in a peaceful way, said Davutoglu.
