ANKARA (AA) - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated on Thursday that every military coup was illegitimate and this was an obvious principle of Turkey, regarding recent incidents in Egypt.
Speaking at a fast breaking dinner hosted by independent industrialists and businessmen's association in Ankara, Erdogan reiterated his country's strong opposition against the military coup in Egypt.
"Every military coup, regardless of its target, country and reason, is the murderer of the democracy, people and the future of the country," Erdogan said, and added that protests in Tahrir Square did not legalize coup.
He said, "If the squares are indicators, where will you place Rab'a Al-Adewiya Square?" and, added that prayers of nation were enough to turn the traps upside-down.
"Those who stand against the coup in Egypt, will live that honor till the end of their last breaths," Erdogan said. "God shall be with Egypt's people in holy Ramadan," he added.
Erdogan emphasized that Egypt was left alone by democratic countries, and stressed that injustice and lack of confidence were after these kind of sorrows. He reminded their call by United Nations to NATO, European Union, US, Russia and China and added despite, attempts triggering injustice, loneliness, lack of confidence were still continuing both in world and Islamic geography.
Chief of Staff Abdul Fattah al-Sisi's televised statement announcing the military takeover of government on July 3 and Morsi, Egypt's first democratically elected president, was ousted by the army under an army roadmap.
Thousands of his supporters have since taken to the streets to demand his return to power.
