World Bank Senior Advisor Luis Serven has said, "Gezi Park events have not made a big impact on Turkish economy."
Speaking to Anadolu Agency, Serven said, the situation could change in case of the continuation of the events.
He said, "It is more of a political situation, rather than being economic."
In response to a question about comparison of Brazil with Turkey, the two countries with an economic boom and anti-government protests, Seven said, "They have economic similarities looking at the last 30 years but still they are very different from each other."
Regarding Turkey's overall economic performance, Serven said, "Turkey has been performing very succesfully in economy in the last 10 years. Maintaining it depends on the performance to adapt changes, and it requires keeping on behaving cautiously. For further development, you need to make more reforms, while basing them on strong foundations."
