AFYONKARAHISAR (AA) - March 31, 2013 - Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdag on Sunday said that an investigation was underway on a fire which took place in a building inhabited by Turks in Cologne, Germany on Saturday night.
At least two people were killed in Saturday's fire in Cologne.
Speaking to reporters during a meeting of his ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party in Afyonkarahisar province, Bekir Bozdag stressed that the German federal government and state governments had to fully investigate the fire incidents in which Turks became victims.
"I can not stop thinking as a human. How could the fires in Germany detect the homes of Turks? I find it hard to understand the fires in which Turks get killed. Is it only the homes of Turks where electrical sockets malfunction? Do the electric sockets choose the homes of Turks to cause problems? I feel a need to ask these questions when German authorities say the neo-nazis were not involved in a given fire only after five minutes of inspection. How can they make statements after only five minutes of investigation? How can they reach such a conclusion only after five minutes?" Bozdag said.
"I call on the German government and state governments to carefully investigate the fires and determine the real causes of such fires," Bozdag said.
Touching on the process of solution in Turkey, Bozdag underlined that the issue of terror could not end by only a security dimension.
There is no country in the world which ended terror merely by the security dimension, Bozdag said.
We need to utilize all instruments together in order to end terror, Bozdag emphasized.
We need to take steps with an intention to solve the problem, Bozdag noted.
Turkey, as a country which has solved the problem of terror, will make great leaps in all fields, Bozdag also said.
