ANKARA
Deputy Speaker of Turkish Parliament Sadik Yakut has said they would like to thank Hungary for its support to Turkey's EU membership bid and expressed hope to see more Hungarian support.
Yakut received a delegation under the presidency of Richard Horcshik, the co-chairman of Turkish-Hungarian Friendship Group. Deeply rooted relations between our two countries are based on mutual history and values and our relations of friendship and cooperation go on well, said Yakut.
Yakut stated Hungary was a trustworthy ally for Turkey adding that there was no political problem between Turkey and Hungary, which was a great advantage. Turkey has close relations with Hungary on more than one international topics and both countries share the same vision, said Yakut.
''I believe we will develop the next process in a different way. We are both in NATO. Hungary has always supported Turkey's EU membership bid. We would like to thank Hungary for supporting Turkey's EU membership bid and we ask them to increase their support,'' said Yakut.
Yakut also stressed on the economic relations saying that bilateral trade reached 1.7 billion dollars in 2012.
Horcshik, in his speech, referring to the difficulties in Hungary due to financial crisis in the European Union said Hungary did not want to be like Greece. They want to overcome the financial crisis by themselves and do not need International Monetary Fund's support.
