International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach speaking at the opening of the newly renovated Olympic Museum in the Swiss city of Lausanne says he hopes to see another strong olympıc candidacy from Turkey,
Whether or not Turkey would host the games before the 2032 Olympics, Bach said that "it depends; first of all, Turkey will have to present its candidacy, this is the most important thing."
Turkish weightlifter Naim Suleymanoglu's shoes, which he wore at 1992 Barcelona Olympics are one of the exhibits in the museum.
Bach's gold medal is also exhibited in the Olympic Museum. He won it as a member of the West German fencing team in the 1976 Montreal Olympics.
This makes Bach the first Olympic gold medalist to become IOC president.
The Olympic Museum in Lausanne was first inaugurated on June 23, 1993. It has since then three million visitors in just under 20 years and has produced more than 200 temporary exhibitions.
Bach visited the museum with former IOC Honorary President Jacques Rogge.
