The chairman of Iranian Parliament Ali Larijani on Saturday said Turkey and Iran had common grounds on many issues and fight against terrorism was among the priorities of both states.
Turkish Parliament Speaker Cemil Cicek met with his Iranian counterpart Larijani in Iranian capital Tehran on Saturday.
"Turkey and Iran have common grounds on many issues, especially it is very pleasing for Iran to have acted in the same manner with Turkey against terrorist entities in the region," said Larijani.
"Fight against terrorism is among the priorities of both countries," Larijani stressed.
Larjani also said they aimed at increasing the $20 biliion trade volume between Turkey and Iran to $30 billion with the cooperation of two countries' parliaments.
Cicek said they had the chance to evaluate the tragedy taking place in the region which they also witnessed as neighbors.
In response to a question of whether Turkey provided arms to the Syrian oppositon, Cicek said that Turkey had never armed any group and added those were claims by some people who wanted to smear the image of Turkey in the world.
