Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki sent Friday a letter to Iraqi President Jalal Talabani, wishing him a quick and full recovery.
Being in Germany for treatment, 79-year-old Talabani has an important place in Iraqi people's hearts, who took in charge during important political processes, letter stated published on website of Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK).
"I wish that you would return to your people as soon as possible. This political process really needs you. You enshrined in your people's hearts and your determining role is needed for Iraqi state's further strenghtening and getting rid of hightened political tensions. I hope these unfortunate incidents in the country would end as soon as possible. We need to act together to end the bad reputation inherited by Baath regime and the terrorist acts in the country," al-Maliki said. "I pray to Allah for your quick and full recovery."
Talabani was flown to Berlin, Germany for further treatment in December 2012 after a reported stroke.
