Istanbul’s Bogazici (Bosphorus) Bridge has been reopened to traffic after a “suspicious car” prompted a temporary shut down, police said Tuesday.
Police officers and a bomb disposal squad were immediately called in after the suspicious car was spotted at one of the bridge’s exits.
The bridge was kept closed on both directions between the city's European and Asian sides until the threat was ruled out.
