Istanbul police chase gunmen during hospital shootout

ISTANBUL

Istanbul police are hunting two people after a prisoner being taken to hospital was seized by two armed men.

The prisoner was at Okmeydani Oral and Dental Health Hospital in the city's European side when two armed individuals took him by force, security forces said.

Police fired at the three running men and apprehended one of the gunmen.

The security forces are still searching for the remaining gunman and the prisoner around the city’s Piyalepasa neighborhood.
