MUGLA
The Ro-Ro voyages between Marmaris resort town of Turkey's southwestern province of Mugla and Rhodes island of Greece have contributed to the trade and tourism relations between the two countries.
Hasan Tuncer, manager of Turkish travel agency Nice Tour, told Anadolu Agency on Monday that the visa problems caused by the Greek government constituted the reason why they could not reach the full potential.
Tuncer said, "We believe that the problems would be solved and everything is going to be fine."
"Panagia Skiadeni", a ship owned by the Greek company Dodekanisos Seaways, has made its first Ro-Ro voyage for this season.
Tuncer noted, the ship made 20 tours from Rhodes to Marmaris last year and carried more than four thousand passengers and added that most of them were Greek citizens.
The tours are planned to take place four days a week and the ticket fee varies between 70 and 120 Euro.
The first Ro-Ro voyage between Marmaris and Rhodes island was held on March 25, 2012 by the ship named "Panagia Skiadeni" which has the capacity to carry 700 passengers and 115 vehicles.
