VAN/EDIRNE, Turkey
Turkish security forces on Wednesday seized 298 kilograms (657 pounds) of illegal drugs in anti-narcotic operations in the country, security sources said.
In the Saray district of the eastern Van province, provincial gendarmerie teams seized 68 kilograms (over 150 pounds) of heroin.
Meanwhile, police in northwestern Edirne province found 230 kilograms (507 pounds) of marijuana inside a truck at the Kapikule border crossing with Bulgaria.
The drug was coming from an unspecified country in Europe. The driver of the truck was taken into custody.
