Swedish FM Bildt paid a visit to the Izmir Chamber of Commerce on Friday.
Speaking during his visit, Bildt said that there has been a very close relationship between Turkey and Sweden in the fields of politics and economics.
Bildt said that Turkey was a very dynamic country in regard to economy and reminded that there were many Swedish companies which had investments in Turkey like IKEA.
Upon a question about Turkey and its accession process, Bildt has said, "Turkey needs to focus on the West. I think that there is need for a new dynamism in Turkey's EU accession process. Both parties have to make efforts. I will discuss this with my colleagues in the next couple of days."
Chairman of the Executive Board of Izmir Chamber of Commerce, Ekrem Demirtas said Bildt extended great support to Turkey's EU membership.
