CAIRO (AA) - The Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu Monday condemned the violent attacks in Libya.
Ihsanoglu released a written statement and condemned the violent attacks in Benghazi and the assassination of prominent political activist Abdulsalam Musmari.
Ihsanoglu called on the Libyan people to place national interest above all for the establishment of peace and stability and democratic institutions during the transition period.
Violence attacks in Libya targeting soldiers, police, politicians and activists showed an increase in recent days. Colonel Salem al-Sareh and Colonel Khattab Younis al-Zwai, head of police in Jakhirra and activist Abdulsalam Musmari were killed during last week alongside two blasts that occurred in front of two courts on Sunday.
