BITLIS, Turkey
One Turkish soldier was martyred during operations launched against PKK terrorist organization in Turkey’s eastern Bitlis province on Tuesday.
Two PKK terrorists were also killed, security sources said.
The operations against PKK terrorist organization took place in the village of Olek in Bitlis province.
Several weapons were seized during the clashes.
Airstrikes by Turkish security forces have been ongoing in the province.
The PKK -- considered a terrorist organization also by the U.S. and the EU -- resumed its armed campaign in late July. Since then, more than 200 members of the security forces have been martyred and over 1,700 PKK terrorists killed.
