ANKARA
"Srebrenicki Inferno" (or Srebrenica Hell), an oratorio composed in the memory of more than 8,000 Bosniak men and boys who were massacred in July 1995 in Srebrenica in Bosnia and Herzegovina, was held on Friday in the Turkish capital, Ankara.
Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidential Council Member Bakir Izetbegovic and Turkish Interior Minister Idris Naim Sahin attended the performance by Turkey's Presidential Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Celo Yusic, the oratorio's composer, with soprano Kanita Alic and 12-year-old Dzambo Dzeneta.
"The massacre was such an enormous incident that human mind cannot grasp it. And it did not happen and end in one day. This evil has accumulated there for years," Izetbegovic told the audience after the performance.
