GAZIANTEP/HATAY, Turkey
Turkish forces have seized over 8 kilograms (17.6 pounds) of heroin in the southeastern provinces of Gaziantep and Hatay, security sources said Saturday.
In Gaziantep, anti-drug teams acted upon a tip off and raided some addresses.
During the operation, 4.6 kg (10.2 lbs) of heroin, nine unlicensed guns, two shotguns and cash were seized.
Police also arrested 18 suspects for possession, use and selling of drugs.
In Hatay, the provincial police teams seized 3.8 kg (10.2 lbs) of heroin from a vehicle. Two suspects were arrested.
