Palestinian Interior Minister in Gaza, Fathi Hamad touched on the recent Israeli apology for the deadly Israeli raid on the 'Mavi Marmara' aid ship in May 2010 and called it "a diplomatic victory" for Turkey.
According to a statement released from the Interior Ministry, it was said, "Turkey won a diplomatic victory with the apology of Israel to Turkey."
Moreover, the statement covered, "After the attack on Mavi Marmara, Turkey tried to force Israel to apologize. This is a major transition for blocking Israel's occupancy who also commits war crimes and violates rights of Palestinian people."
Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu on March 22 apologized to his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan for the fatal Israeli raid on the 'Mavi Marmara' aid ship in May 2010 which left nine Turks dead. Netanyahu also promised to pay reparations to the families of the Turkish victims.
