Palestinian Prime Minister in Gaza Ismail Haniyeh said Anadolu Agency's (AA) new Gaza office was an honor for Palestinians.
On occasion of the inauguration of AA's Gaza office, Anadolu Agency Board Chairman and Director General Kemal Ozurk visited Haniyeh in Gaza.
Expressing his appreciation, Haniyeh congratulated AA for the Gaza office and said AA's Gaza office was an honor for Palestinians.
Haniyeh wished success to AA correspondents in Gaza office and said Palestine would provide all forms of convenience for the office.
Indicating that AA streams news in different languages, Haniyeh said, AA streams news in five languages and has the main office in Cairo, a new office in Gaza and one office each in countries in the region which mean that Turkey has dignified the Arab world and Palestinian question.
Erdogan's Gaza visit-
About Erdogan's visit to Gaza, Haniyeh stated that the visit was an historical event regarding the date of the visit and Palestinian question.
Haniyeh added that Erdogan's visit would be an official announcement of lifting the Israeli blockade of Gaza Strip.
Mavi Marmara's 3rd Anniversary-
Reminding that the visit would occur at the same time the Mavi Marmara Flotilla incident occurred 3 years ago, Haniyeh said, we memorialize the respectable blood of Mavi Marmara martyrs.
Haniyeh added, "at the same time we memorialized the violence committed by Israel. Martyrs are the ones who lifted the blockade."
Haniyeh stated that "Turkey helped Palestinians a lot and, in addition, Turkey gave martyrs to our country. Therefore, l give my regards to Erdogan and Turkish people".
Director General Kemal Ozturk-
Ozturk informed Haniyeh about AA operations and works.
Ozturk stated that AA started the agency's centennial vision one and half years ago and aimed to broadcast in 11 languages in a short time while it currently published news in 5 languages.
Reminding that recently the Arabic News Desk celebrated its first year of broadcasting, Ozturk told Haniyeh that when you deliver a speech in Gaza, two hours later, Turkish media gets your speech in Turkish. Not only this, AA also translate your speech into English, Russian and Bosnian.
"AA have the target to be one of the top five news agencies of the world by 2020 broadcasting in 11 languages with 3 thousand corespondents in 80 countries," said Ozturk.
Anadolu Agency is shaping its centennial vision with the target of becoming one of the top five agencies in the world. With the inauguration of its Gaza office, it now further expands its Northern Africa and Middle East base.
Founded with the aim of providing the Arab world with accurate news through a direct channel, AA Arabic News Coordination Office leads the way in transmitting news directly to people all around the world via its offices in Arabic speaking countries.
The Gaza office operates in a 180 square-meter office with six correspondents. The number of daily news, photographs, and videos produced in Gaza are expected to get doubled with the new office in service.
Gaza originated news and photographs of AA Arabic News Coordination Office, which has been in service since April 15, 2012, have had widespread media coverage in Turkey.
AA is the biggest news agency in Turkey and ranks among top ten in the world, with its news stream in five languages produced by 1,200 staff working in 50 countries.
