ISTANBUL
Turkish Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Binali Yildirim has said that the Turkish railway network would reach 26,000 kilometers by 2023, when the Republic of Turkey would celebrate the 100th anniversary of its foundation.
Speaking to the Hazar World periodical of the Hazar Strategy Institute, Yildirim indicated that "out of 26,000 kilometers of railway network in Turkey, 10,000 kilometers of railway would be used for high speed trains."
Touching on logistics centers, Yildirim underlined that such centers would make contributions worth 40 billion USD to the Turkish logistics sector.
On the Kars-Tbilisi-Baku Railway, Binali Yildirim stated that the railway would become the most economic and reliable option of transportation in the Asia-Europe corridor.
