BRUSSELS (AA) - NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen said, the international community has to release a message which should not cause a misunderstanding by Damascus regime.
Speaking to the members of the press prior to the meeting, Rasmussen noted, "The international community has to release a single and a strong message which should not cause a misunderstanding by the Damascus regime."
Describing the situation in Syria as "a real tragedy", Rasmussen said, developments in the country posed a threat towards the regional security and stability.
Rasmussen added, they would discuss the "provocative acts and threatening statements" of North Korea at their meeting and said, international community had to send a strong message to the Pyongyang administration which defies against regional and international stability and security.
Furthermore, foreign ministers of NATO member countries strongly condemned the North Korea for its ballistic missile nuclear test programs which pose a serious threat to regional and international peace, security and stability.
In their joint statement, foreign ministers warned that the Pyongyang authority should avoid further provocations.

NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen stated that the chemical weapons in Syria could directly affect security of NATO.
Foreign ministers of NATO member countries convened to discuss the Syria crisis, North Korea and Afghanistan in Brussels on Tuesday.
Speaking at a press conference following their meeting, Rasmussen said, the spreading of the Syria crisis was worrying them very much.
"Our ally Turkey was faced with intense raid of asylum and cross-border incidents. We are extremely concerned about the use of ballistic missiles in Syria and the possible use of chemical weapons. There is no call for NATO to play a role in Syria, but if these challenges remain unaddressed they could directly affect our own security, so we will continue to remain extremely vigilant," told Rasmussen journalists.
Rasmussen stated that within the scope of the active protection and defense of Turkey, NATO was having any kind of plans.
NATO SG Rasmussen added the only way out in Syria was a political solution.
