ISTANBUL (AA) - August 5, 2012 - Renowned film director Metin Erksan passed away on Saturday at Istanbul's MedicalPark Hospital.
Erksan was a prominent director who had won the "Golden Bear" award at the International Berlin Film Festival in 1964.
Metin Erksan was born in the north-western province of Canakkale in 1929. After graduating from the Art History Department of the Istanbul University in 1952, he directed dozens of films.
