Washington (AA) – US President Barack Obama named Susan Rice as the new national security advisor, while appointing Samantha Power as the new ambassador to the United Nations.
Speaking at Rose Garden at the White House, Obama said Rice, Power and the former national security advisor Tom Donilon had devoted themselves to the US, and added, “I am proud of them all.”
Obama said, Rice would replace Donilon in the beginning of July.
Both Tom Donilon and Susan Rice were on duty since the beginning of Obama administration’s first term in presidency.
