ANKARA
Turkish Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan has said that Spanish companies gave priority to Turkey in their investments.
Releasing a written statement on Thursday, Caglayan said that he visited Spain together with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on November 27, adding that several Spanish companies, which were currently operating in Turkey, would extend their businesses while several other companies were planning to invest in Turkey.
Spanish BBVA, CAF, Inditex, Mapfre, Essentium, Comsa, Mango, Tecnicas Reunidas and Gestamp companies, which are operating in banking, insurance, transportation, textile and automotive sectors in Turkey, stated they would extend their businesses and continue with their investments in Turkey, said Caglayan.
Meanwhile, Spanish FCC, Gas Natural and Red Electrica companies stated they were planning to make investments in Turkey, said Caglayan, adding that those companies were operating in construction, gas, energy, and electricity distribution areas.
