The Turkish army killed 10 PKK terrorists in Turkey’s southeastern provinces of Diyarbakir and Sirnak on Friday.
According to a statement issued Saturday by the Turkish General Staff, nine PKK terrorists were killed in the Sur district of the Diyarbakir province. So far, 257 terrorists have been killed in Sur.
One PKK terrorist was killed in Sirnak’s Idil district. The total number of terrorists killed in Idil so far is 66.
Numerous weapons were also seized during the operations.
The southeast has been the scene of a significant military operation since December.
The PKK – considered to be a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU – resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in late July 2015.
Since then, more than 280 members of the security forces have been martyred and thousands of PKK terrorists killed in operations across Turkey and northern Iraq.
