Turkey ranks eighth in the world with its iron-steel production in the first half of 2012.
Turkey was ranked fifteenth in the world with its amount of iron and steel production only a decade ago.
According to the World Steel Association, global production of iron-steel in the first six months of 2012 went up 1 percent, when compared to the same term last year, and was recorded as 767 million tonnes.
In the same term, Turkey's production of iron-steel went up by 9 percent and was recorded as 17.9 million tonnes.
With such a figure in 2012, Turkey left behind countries such as Ukraine and Brazil in iron-steel production.
