ANKARA
Japan and Turkey are to agree to cooperate on nuclear power, Turkey’s official gazette reported on Saturday.
The 15-year agreement, which is still to be formalized, encompasses feasibility studies, design, construction, maintenance, fuel supply, security and training to be carried out by Japan.
Turkey’s energy requirements are growing at a higher rate than any other European country. The country has few natural energy resources and is about to build two nuclear plants - one with Russia on the Mediterranean coast and another with France and Japan on the Black Sea
